Hello everyone,
I hope you like my blog site. This isn't the first time I've blogged, but I don't blog often. I'll try to do better this time and maybe continue on after this class.
I had a very pleasant experience with Journey On's relaxation exercise. I sat in a chair this time around, but I think I'll lie down next time to become more relaxed. As I imagined the blood flowing from my abdomen up to my shoulders and down to my arms it seemed that I would get stuck at the shoulders and not make it all the way to the hands and fingers. I guess this was alright because I did feel the heaviness and warmth that the moderator was talking about, and found myself too comfortable to lift my arms. Returning the blood to my abdomen seemed more difficult, but I didn't panic and stayed within my comfort zone till the end. All-in-all I had a very good experience. I hope all is well with everyone, and may you find peace in your life. : )

I had trouble with returning the blood back to the abdomen too. I think I was more aware of my surroundings and that it was the end of the exercise. Maybe that was the point. Guess it's a learning process right? Good luck!! -Paula
ReplyDeleteI had a little trouble with the whole exercise--a little out of my comfort zone, I guess. But I did find it relaxing--I'm just not sure I moved any blood around. Anyway, see ya around on the boards!
ReplyDeleteHi Penny~
ReplyDeleteI found that this was a very pleasant experience for me. I have found in the past that I have had difficulty with relaxation techniques; my mind often wandered and continually thought about how long this would take and how much I had to do and did not have time for this, but this time it really worked for me. Perhaps I was in the right frame of mind and open for the experience. I was in the sitting position waiting for the experience not to work and looked at the clock and figured "what the heck...try and go for it"...I let my body go....At first I did not know what he was talking about, but I guess my mind did because before I knew it, my arms and hands were hot and heavy. Aches and pains went away and I found that when I came back to the "real world" I was ready for action. I hope that in the future you do feel more comfortable...Who knows, a change in position may help....

Hi Everyone,
ReplyDeleteI like the relaxation exercises but there is way too much distraction in the household. Either my husband is watching TV with the volume too loud (I usually have started the exercise before I realize this), or it could be that I've quieted my mind enough to notice, or my little pug is snuffling and snorting. : ) During the last seminar, when we had to notice a spirit animal, I was so distracted by the ambient noise that I never really got into the exercise. I felt bad that I was the only one who didn't see an animal. I want to go back and try that one again because I think it would be fun. I'm really enjoying this class and I hope you are too. Thanks for writing!
